Last night at Old Billingsgate the stars turned out in force for the 14th edition of the Moët British Independent Film Awards. The glittering event was a who’s who of British cinema and was hosted by actor and comedian Chris O’Dowd.
007 Daniel Craig was the unexpected guest of the evening.  He presented the award for Best British Independent Film to Tyrannosaur directed by Paddy Considine, who also picked up the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director, which legendary Hollywood director Ron Howard presented.
Other guests included Bradley Cooper, Jodie Whitaker, Gemma Arterton, Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Fassbender, Dominic Cooper, Dominic West, Ashley Walters, Charles Dance, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, Emilia Fox, Joanne Frogatt, Imelda Staunton, Olivia Williams, Olivia Coleman, Elizabeth McGovern, Jamie Winstone, Ruth Wilson, Michelle Ryan and Mary McCartney.
O’Dowd opened the awards with a bang; wowing the 700 guests with a spectacular number involving dancers and the “Double Dream Feet” dance, made famous on YouTube.  No doubt Chris’ version will become its own internet sensation!
Prior to the awards, guests dined on a delicious seasonal menu and enjoyed magnums of Moët & Chandon.

Seasonal salad of butternut squash, roasted balsamic beetroot, feta, rocket and a beetroot dressing with a parmesan tuile
Chargrilled fillet of seabass on crushed chive potatoes with creamed peas and braised baby gems
Lemon curd tart with clementine fondue and mascarpone.

Moët Champagne was flowing all night and each winner, in addition to their award provided by Swarovski, designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for Swarovski Crystal Palace, received a personal crystallised magnum and gifts from MAC.
On the red carpet guests were invited to “Toast for a Cause”. Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper, Chris O'Dowd, Ralph Fiennes, Dominic West and Brendan Gleeson helped to raise thousands of pounds for their favourite charities by toasting with mini Moët & Chandon bottles.
During the after party Belvedere Vodka was served alongside Moët & Chandon.  Colourful cocktails that 007 would have been proud of were on the menu; including a Belvedere Martini (The definitive vodka martini, stirred with a citrus twist), a Belvedere Cosmopolitan (A classic cocktail given a twist with Belvedere Citrus) and an incredible Belvedere Polish Mule (Belvedere Vodka and Fever Tree Ginger Beer, a delicious blend of three gingers from Nigeria, Cochin and the Ivory Coast).
