Your screening

The 18th Raindance Film Festival takes place from 29 September – 10 October 2010. You will be notified with the date and time of your screening at the beginning of September.

The Raindance Film Festival takes place in the West End of London, in the heart of the theatre district. The majority of screenings will take place at the Apollo Cinema: Piccadilly Circus on Regent Street, near Piccadilly Circus station. The Raindance office is 5 minutes away in Soho. We will use other venues for other events.

Print Traffic

Our print traffic Co-ordinator Frederica ( will be getting in touch with filmmakers once their films are confirmed to organise the shipping of screening copies. Please not that we do not pay shipping costs for short films. She will ask you about the following information:

Screening Format
Details of screening format (35mm, Digibeta, Beta SP, HDCAM, HDV, Mini DV, DVCAM, DCP, Blu-ray or DVD), whether it is NTSC or PAL and the ratio of the film. Also, any information that you can provide on the sound format would be useful.

DVD Back-up
By 6th September we require a clean DVD copy of the film. This will be used for press and as a back-up copy for the screening. If you are unable to get this to us by 6th September, could you let her know in advance?

Print Copy of Film
13th September - We will need your print by this date. If this is likely to be a problem due to other screenings, please let her know as soon as possible. Ideally the format which you send us should be previously tested for sound and image, but if this is not possible (ie it is coming straight from the transfer) please let us know.

Shipping Address
Everything should be sent to Raindance Film Festival, Print Traffic, 81 Berwick St, London, W1F 8TW. You will need to mark them as 'Temporary Cultural Import: Non Pornographic Material, No Commercial Value' and the value must be marked as less than $30, otherwise it can be held by customs which will unnecessarily delay it's arrival in our office.

After the Festival

And finally, could you let her know the address of where the film goes after we have screened it, as well as any deadlines of when it must be there?

Print Rehearsal for Feature Films
By 3rd September you must let her know if you wish to attend the print rehearsal of your screening. Print rehearsals run in the morning on the day of the screening, and will not be a full run through. You are able to attend the rehearsal by invitation only, so please let her know as early as possible.

Tickets Allocation

Each filmmaker gets complimentary tickets to their own screening – for features it’s 4 comp tickets, for shorts it’s 2. Our agreement with the Apollo gives us a strictly limited number of comps. However, we can make sure that you get tickets at concessionary rates.

Each attending filmmaker is given a festival pass. Passes will be ready to be collected from Thursday 30th September at 10am at the Apollo Cinema. As a passholder you are entitled to concessionary rates. You can book these tickets by calling the Apollo Box Office and saying you are a filmmaker or online. You will be asked to show your filmmaker pass at the cinema.
