To celebrate the Chinese Films screening at Raindance, we are proud to present, direct from China, a special night with NEW PANTS, the electro and new wave group fronted by Panda Candy’s director Peng Lei (http://www.myspace.com/beijingnewpants).
New Pants are among the brightest, most original and adventurous artists performing in China today.
The four members hail from Beijing and formed the band in 1997. New Pants is distinguished by their sclectic Retro taste and have been on the forefront of new music in China since their formation. They are influenced by a wide range of western music. Anything from the Ramones and New Order, to 80’s disco and electro. Their totally captivating and distinguished sound is combined with an eye-catching stage presence. They are the vibrant, original fish in the over-crowded pond of Chinese music.
Live Painting inspired on "The Panda Candy" and "Twilight Dancing", Chinese films showing at RFF.
