Now that our submission deadlines have passed all efforts in the Raindance office have turned to programming the festival. We have received even more films than last year, meaning that we have even more viewing time to cram in, which is never a bad thing.
This year we are also incorporating even more music-related content into the festival, so attendees can expect nightly music performances from an eclectic mix of artists. We are currently scouting for musical talent to perform at the festival, so if you're in, or know of, a band/artist that would be interested in playing please send a MySpace or website link to email@example.com along with all your contact details. If you're based in London, or plan on being here in early October we'd love to hear from you. Please DO NOT send in CDs as we have so many discs in the office right now we'll likely mistake them for films, then scratch our heads like monkeys when no image appears on our screens. If we feel your band is right for the festival, we will be in touch for more information.
We're also in the process of finalising our venues for festival events, so expect more exciting news relating to this in the near future.
We are looking for festival volunteers in the run-up to this year's event, to help out with everything from marketing to box-office handling, goody-bag stuffing and more.
Full details of how to volunteer can be found here...
As of Friday 20th June Raindance has closed its doors to submissions for 2008. In spite of various attempts to bribe, beg, and blackmail our sympathy we are not accepting late entries, so if you've missed the boat this year you'll have to wait until January 2009 for your next chance to submit.
To all of you who have submitted films to the festival we thank you for choosing Raindance. It's now down to our team of programmers to work their way through the mountain of DVDs to determine the lineup for this year's event.
We expect to inform you by the 29th August. Please do not call/email us before this date as our programme will not be finalised. We thank you in advance for your patience.
Submissions reopen on 01 JAnuary 2009.
