Hollywood fears the internet and pretends it doesn't really exist. While certain of the movie moguls are slowly waking up, movies and moviemaking for the internet is a golden opportunity for independents.

Entrepreneurial filmmakers realise that the world wide web offers a series of opportunities, both commercially and creatively, that make the advent of 'the talkies' seem ordinary. But which way should you go? Which content works? What platforms should you use?  And most importantly, how can you monetise your work effectively?

These and other questions will be discussed and debated.

Come and join a panel discussion with media pioneers specialising in a range of internet skills from web series, gaming, app building and digital distribution. Learn first hand from filmmakers in the throes of developing their audience building skills, their storytelling, and most importantly, their finances.

Our expert panel will be discussing the very latest developments, showing clips and hosting a spirited Q&A.

Panelists include:

David WilkinsonDavid Nicholas Wilkinson, founder and current owner of the Guerilla companies, is possibly unique in the UK entertainment industry. His hands-on experience and depth of knowledge in a range of different entertainment sectors is almost certainly unequalled by anyone else working in Britain today. This gives him an enviable overview across the show business world. He has a proven track record in film/ TV and theatre production winning many awards; cinema/ DVD/ VOD/ airline/ TV/ online distribution; book publishing as well as event management. He was also an award winning actor and has starred in film/ TV/ theatre productions. He has produced and/or distributed almost 150 feature films. He has also hosted and organised over 230 Q&A’s/ PA’s in the UK and Ireland.

David Nicholas Wilkinson has participated on almost one hundred film panels chairing over thirty of them at BAFTA, Screen Yorkshire, Screen South, Bradford, Galway Film Fleadh etc . For 10 years he devised and chaired MEET THE EXPERTS at the Edinburgh Film Festival with senior financiers, producers, commission editors, sales agents etc. giving help and advice to new emerging filmmakers. He now hosts this event at the London Film Festival.

He has appeared on many film competition juries in the UK, Germany, France, Lithuania and Ireland. Wilkinson has also written numerous magazine / newspaper articles and books on the many aspects of the film industry. He has appeared on BBC TV, BBC Radio Four's "Today" programme, Radio 5 Live, Channel 4 News, ZDF, SKY News, CNN, NBC etc, and been interviewed for countless newspapers articles such as The Sunday Times, talking about film production and distribution.

Wilkinson has also acted as a consultant on over 300 feature film projects for institutional financiers, individual investors and numerous film and television production companies seeking funding.

Andrew Osayemi – Managing Director of MTA Productions – The Makers of Meet the Adebanjos

Andrew Osayemi is a man of many talents – Currently 28 years old Andrew went from Club DJ to City Trader to Managing Director of a TV Production company. South London born and raised, as an undergraduate at Warwick
University he secured graduate position in RBS as a trader where he joined in 2005 and worked till 2010. During his time there he quickly rose through the ranks to be head Euro FX Trader in New York where he worked for 2 years. Living in New York got his creative juices flowing and on return to the UK decided to leave the financial world to move into the media space to create MTA Productions LTD. His vision was to create the biggest TV Production company in the world focused on African related content. The company’s 1st project was the highly successful British-African TV sitcom Meet the Adebanjo’s ( which produced independently and launched online, has since been syndicated TV channels in UK and Africa and is due to return for season 2 in 2013. Andrew lives a life of fun and adventure and goes after challenges others say can not be achieved.

Don Allen
Don has been working in the industry for a very long time... Having completed short films, music videos and corporate films he shot two feature films. The first an ultra-low budget called "Three Minute Moments" and the second with a bit-of-a-better budget called "The Eighth Piece" starring Tamer Hassan and Colin Salmon. However, he was been strongly drawn to distribution and having the largest possible viewer base for smaller independent producers and directors and this led him to establish App Media. Now working with filmmakers around the world App Media is providing a solid distribution platform to benefit all.

TINA CESA WARD is a writer and director for the screen and web.  Her award-winning short film In Their Absence was named one of the best short films of the decade by Festival de cortos MíraLes in 2011.  As the Executive Producer/Writer/Director of the highly popular and critically acclaimed webseries Anyone But Me, Tina won the first ever Writers Guild Award for Original New Media. Tina has been nominated several times for her directing, including a Streamy Award and IAWTV nomination.  In 2010 Tina directed the branded webseries Bestsellers.  And in late 2011 Tina debuted the mini series Good People in Love. Hailed by DIGIDAY as “…a new milestone for online video series.”

Susan MillerSUSAN MILLER is an Executive Producer/writer of the acclaimed webseries, Anyone But Me, completing 3 seasons with over 13 million views worldwide. For her work on the show Miller, and Tina Cesa Ward won the first Writers Guild of America Award for Original New Media, as well as Best Drama Writing in the IAWTV awards. Anyone But Me has been honored with a Webby nomination;’s Best Web Drama;’s Best Web Drama; The Silver People’s Telly Award, and as a YouTube “On the Rise” Partner. Miller, a two time Obie winner and Guggenheim Fellow in playwriting, was a Consulting Producer on The L Word and Thirtysomething and has written feature screenplays for Disney, Warner Bros, Universal and Fox. She is also the Creator/writer of Bestsellers, a branded webseries about women in a book club.
