A certain 20th century film concerning doors that slid may not have been the deepest of narratives, yet it managed to communicate an interesting take on time and the subsequent power it has. Fate, chance and providence are all words/concepts that divide people into two(ish) camps – Believers and Non-Believers. ‘Love Tomorrow’ is a London based drama that uses the same time concept (and ensuing fallout) as its central axis by following a serendipitous meeting. A lingering glance on a Camden Town escalator sees a man and woman enter into conversation, which, over a 24 hr period develops into a (dependent) emotional relationship, solidified by their mutual profession – dance.

Dance films have had somewhat of a resurgence over the past few years, but have tended to lean towards the sensational i.e. psychopathic Ballerinas! Though the art-form requires an almost inhumane level of commitment, it still manages to attract balanced people who have a life outside the theatre, which sometimes has to take precedence. Such is the case for ‘Love Tomorrow’s female protagonist who, after life-altering news, takes solace in a stranger’s kindness. The identity of dancers is an interesting subject to cover considering their professional silence – and ‘Love Tomorrow’ offers an unusual circumstance where their voices can actually be heard.
