Location & Duration:

Apollo Piccadilly - 100 mins

Event Details

Elliot Scott’s background in production design stems from 2 generations of his family working as designers in the British and American film industries. He has been working for the past 8 years in the industry whilst his design education background comes from a foundation degree at Chelsea collage of Art and a 1st from Nottingham Trent University in multimedia and design.

From running his own motion arts festival, he understands what it means to pass on valuable assistance, advice and real experiences to aid in teaching and inspiring new creative talent in the UK. A lot of design courses fall short from what is expected from industry, and he knows he would pass on the correct contemporary practices to attendees.

This statement is based on an introductory talk and workshop on production design;

The Background's Background; Examples of early set design on screen, the importance of production design and set decoration, including examples from top film designers, and where their styles have derived from.

Design for the Shot;
The process of low budget film design.

From Concept to Screen;
An introduction into concept art and the importance of proper research, leading through to where to find great material.

First Cut; From model to fullsize. Workshop on model making for sets and how important both CG models and foamcore models are on arriving at your final scene.
