Short Synopsis:

John is a professional gambler but when he meets a beautiful and mysterious new bookie his life starts to spiral out of control. A modern morality tale..

Flutter John is an ordinary married man with an unusual way of making a living. His successful lawyer wife knows he pays his way through gambling and it is his honesty that makes their domestic arrangement work. When an attractive new bookie mysteriously arrives at the dog track, however, John finds himself in a world of thrills and deceit – and suddenly the stakes are higher than he could have imagined.

With the delectable Joe Anderson in the lead role and Billy Zane as a bet-loving dentist, the quality of this dark comedy is instantly apparent. The plot is excellently wrought and its surreal twists and turns somehow feel believable and, by the end, inevitable.

Created in the tradition of great British films, Flutter contains undeniable shades of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. With its killer soundtrack, kooky characters and gritty feel, it delivers the pace of a caper combined with real emotional depth; we shudder at the depravity, laugh at the jokes and scream at the screen as we watch John ruin his life. To call it a metaphor for addiction would be accurate but po-faced: what we have here is a sexy British comedy that could hold its own in Hollywood.
