Jamie and Jody are identical twin brothers and they're, well, twisted. In addition
to sharing the same visage, they also share a rather twisted relationship with
Candy, Jody's high school sweetheart, and a passion for killing other highschoolers.
While Jody carries on with Candy, Jamie dreams up innovative ways to market
himself and his brother as sympathetic serial killers to the increasingly inquisitive
media - he decides to place the blame for their sordid extracurricular activities
on Hollywood action hero Vincent Fox and his shoot 'em up movies. In the mean
time Candy's confidante, Kristina, gets a bit too suspicious and the twins add
her to their burgeoning list of murders, but not before Candy unexpectedly walks
in to witness her best friend's decapitation. Unfazed, Jamie and Jody successfully
kidnap Fox and escort him to their prom. In front of a panicking police force
and the frenzied media, Jamie and Jody make their last twisted demand. In 1995
eighteen-year-old Sarah Edmonds and her boyfriend Benjamin Darras blamed Oliver
Stone and his film, Natural Born Killers, for the trail of death they left after
a rampage in the American South. Twisted takes a critical, tongue-in-cheek look
at this, and the rash of copycat killings blamed on the media by victims and
the killers themselves in a uniquely British film about America. DS
A veteran of the documentary world, Nicolas Ralph cut his teeth at the BBC
and pioneered the rise of reality TV. In 1999 he began a four-year stint editing
over 15 features films before returning to the UK to direct Twisted, his first
feature.
