John E Edwards is a soul man with a twist of punk. His quirky soul-rock act underscores this weirdly moving story of his quest to prove himself the 'number three man' in world soul. Even his biggest fan wouldn't claim John's any great shakes as a singer. His voice is off-key, but he makes up for it with incredible dynamism, and an overwhelming command of his sell-out audiences.

Having moved home to take care of his ailing mother, John's itching to get back on the road, wrestling with his love for his mom and his need to perform.

Edwards is pure self-belief, a walking actuality, a man who defines reality around him through sheer will - talking to the camera, his hypnotic stare dares you to say he's not as good as he thinks he is. The love of the title features in many of his semi-autobiographical songs, and stands for self-love and his need for love from his dying mother and estranged wife. This is the story of a man who finds it hard to say he wants love from others, and who lets action and music talk for him. Chris Bradley and Kyle La Brache spent two years making John E Edwards Is In Love. Both are partners in International Orange, known for innovative music video, commercials, and documentaries. Their next project is to direct their own screenplay, Saltwater.
