A spoiled young kid named Carlos suddenly discovers some hidden secrets about
his family. He never knew his father, nor will his mother tell him anything
about his grandfather. But Carlos knows that his grandfather was a stuntman
on famous westerns. So he decides to explore the unknown part of his family,
and escapes to a touristy place in the middle of nowhere called Texas Hollywood
to try to meet his grandfather. When his mother finds out she can't take it
and she swears by all means necessary to destroy the wild west village. But
cowboys are not cowards and here is where the movie really kicks into overdrive.
Carlos will defend the village with everything he's got.
This is a phenomenal masterpiece in homage to spaghetti western classics,
and it's definitely this director's most complete work. There are many brilliant
moments and, the director manages to pull off the rare trick of engaging an
audience right through from opening scene to rear title crawl. The pure imagination
and all the ideas executed and transferred to the screen are nothing less than
spectacular, as are the impressive visuals. See this even if you don't like
westerns; the movie is about courage, friendship, and packed full of highly
original humour. AK
Alexander de la Iglesia made his feature film debut with the film Accion Mutante
