FOURTEENTH RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

MR. RIGHT

SUNDAY 8 OCTOBER AT 4:45PM

Country UK Running Time 86 Format Digi Beta
Directors/Screenplay David and Jacqui Morris Producer Jacqui Morris
Cast: James Lance , Luke de Woolfson, Jeremy Edwards, Andrew Dunn, Rick Warden Email mugshoots@gmail.com Website www.mrrightthemovie.com

One long hot London summer in the lives of four couples, three of them gay. Harry (James Lance), a producer of successful but low-brow TV, hates his job and dreams of travelling in the East. He’s in love with Alex, a wannabe actor. Rugged rugby player William has a young daughter who is intent on ruining his relationship with Lawrence, star of a hospital-set soap. The gorgeous Lars is kept by Tom, who, it seems, will excuse his every betrayal. Friend to all is “fag hag” Louise, who tries to be a mediating force in all their lives but is also increasingly paranoid that her own boyfriend (Jeremy Edwards) might fancy a boyfriend of his own …

With a strong cast – including a starring role for Old Compton Street – and a smart script, this is a neat comedy-drama. It’s less about finding Mr Right than it is about losing him. From the Scissor Sisters to the Kaiser Chiefs, the soundtrack says it all: it’s a good thing you enjoy drama because your nearest and dearest will keep dishing it out. LL
