FOURTEENTH RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

LONDON TO BRIGHTON

SATURDAY 7 OCTOBER AT 6PM

Country UK Running Time 85 mins  Format 35mm Director/Screenplay Paul Andrew Williams Producers Al Clark, Ken Marshalll, Rachel Robey DoP Christopher Ross Cast Loraine Stanley, Georgia Groome Print Source Vertigo Films E sam@vertigofilms

It’s 3.07am in London when the doors burst open on a public toilet and the bruised and battered sight of Kelly and Joanne, a young woman and girl in obvious physical and emotional distress, confronts us. We find they are willing to do anything to get out of town. And over the next 24 hours, and through a cleverly constructed series of flashbacks, we learn who they are to each other and what they are running from. This has a raw, gritty emotional core that defies even the most removed members of the audience to walk away untouched.

On a relatively miniscule budget, director Paul Andrew Williams has created a well crafted, keenly observed directorial debut. The strong ensemble cast is led by newcomers Lorraine Stanley (Kelly) and Georgia Groome (Joanne), supported by Sam Spruell and Johnny Harris as the menacing gang leader and loutish pimp who are hot on their trail.

The film won the Skillset New Directors Award at Edinburgh this year.   JvF
