FOURTEENTH RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

THE BOYS AND GIRLS GUIDE TO GETTING DOWN

SATURDAY 7 OCTOBER AT 9:45 PM

Country USA Running Time 92mins Format Beta SP Director/ Screenplay Paul Sapiano Director of Photography Roman Jakobi Producer Hani Selim Cast Cricket Leigh, Steve Monroe, Leyla Razzari Print Source Boys and Girls Guide
Website http://www.boysandgirlsguide.com/

If ever there was a film that lived up to its title then this cheeky picture from writer-director Paul Sapiano is certainly it. The vibe of the UK’s Human Traffic is transferred Stateside in a hysterical yet potentially accurate account of youth nightlife. What is presented here is literally a comprehensive guide to scoring with the opposite sex on a night out, complete with various animations and mock scientific diagrams to illustrate the lesson at hand. Set out in a book-like format (complete with chapter headings),

The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down takes its audience through many of the do’s and don’ts of modern day socialising. Such topics explored include the importance of tipping bartenders, essential drug etiquette, key differences between the sexes and of course the most efficient ways of achieving the number one goal. Much like the work of early Linklater, the film takes place over the course of one day and is told through the experiences of a multitude of quirky characters.

Jammed with hilarious pop culture references (“Call me!!! I’m on MySpace!!!”), and a suitably energetic soundtrack, the film is a must for anyone looking for a party-fuelled experience. JM
